"Saying No to Joe"
After this entry, expect no more links to anything Joe Clark writes from this blog. While I typically discreetly drop people from my link list for any number of reasons, I generally keep those private.
I couldn't be quiet this time.
First, his prissy, pissy post nit-picking at "skinnyboy neurotic" Minx and criticizing Jocko's looks (and the fact that he is not wearing a seat belt in a picture that may have been taken in a parked car, for all we know). All this about people he's probably never e-mailed or interacted with in any way except to snark at them. Myself, I DO think jocko looks absolutely gorgeous, PLUS he's smart, funny, and has that cool jocko-licious writing style I've grown to love.
Second, his bizarre anti-Jish rant. Now, I don't know Jish at all.. though I did play the game and thereafter received a comment from him. Condescending or not; "stinking rich" or poor; hell, Canadian or American; NO human being deserves the kind of harrassment Jish described. To further deride him by dismissing his blog entry as an attempt to garner sympathy is absolutely revolting.
Finally, his infuriatingly pedantic "did-they-jump-or-were-they-blown-out-of-the-building" treatise. [Edit: 09/18 2001 1:52 AM] Who cares whether people jumped, were pushed, or blown out of the goddamn building? Thousands of people are dead. [/Edit] Thank you for enlightening us "Stoopid 'Mericans" on the laws of Physics. I know I desperately needed Joe to look down his nose and pontificate to me on Saturday....NOT!
Does he have a right to his opinions? Absolutely. Do I need to point any more traffic to this nasty, bitter, oh-so snooty queen's site? I won't be after this entry.

It's always *tremendously* amusing what one might find by a Google ego-search. I have, in fact, exchanged several pleasant snatchmails with John d'Addario, Chad the Minx, and Jockohomo. Jish is still a condescending twat; lots of people may like him, and they are entitled to be wrong. There is a *material* distinction between being blown
out of a building and jumping voluntarily.
"Deconstructing 'You've Got Blog'" is very easy to understand as an attack on the *spotlight* shone on so-called A-list bloggers. The article is so ill-founded and biased that it's being reprinted in an actual dead-tree book in 2002.
And please. You're fags. You've *got* to be able to do better than "asshole." "Quisling" is a word I'm liking a lot these days, but sadly, it does not apply to me.

I'm with you, Joe's an asshole. I shudder to remember his desperately paranoid rantings about the "A-List", and how much money they all make. Sad, sad.
I've only really interacted with Jish once, but I can tell you he's very charming, personable, nice and ABSOLUTELY nothing like Joe's oddball portrait of him.
